New Glasgow: Helen Amelia Oliver age 94 of High Crest Place and formerly of North Street, New Glasgow passed away on Saturday December 17th, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Harquail) Rankin.
Helen spent her early years in Stellarton and after her marriage to Roy lived her married life in New Glasgow.
She had worked for Goodman’s for some time.
Helen was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are sisters –in –law:Irene Rankin of New Glasgow, Lorraine Rankin of Stellarton, Mildred Rankin of Stellarton. Nieces : Catherine MacArthur of Stellarton, Lea and Tom Russell of Dartmouth, Lottie MacIntosh of Stellarton, Diane and Hugh Pearly of Hilden, Debbie and Peter Ross of Truro, Joyce and Johns Fraser of Pictou Landing.
Nephews: Gerald and Gloria Turnbull of Stellarton, Keith and Mary Rankin of Kentville, David and Faye Rankin of New Glasgow, Rick and Diane Rankin of Trenton. Special cousin Linda Fraser of Little Harbour Rd.
Helen was predeceased by her husband John “Roy” Oliver in 1990. Brothers: Earl, Robert, Fred and Keith; a sister Eva Turnbull.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Monday in the H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel.
Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 2 P.M. from Our Lady of Lourdes Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating.
Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital
