Julia Thressia Siteman, 95, of Sydney Forks passed away peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009.
Born in Bear Point, Shelburne Co., Aug. 15, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Charles Austin and Nettie (Josey) O’Connell.
She lived in Lantz, Hants Co. for many years, and was very active in that community in both home and school and her parish, Christ Church having served as president of the ACW. Julia was also one who truly enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening. Moving to Sydney Forks in 1980, she continued to be very active with the Spanish River Seniors Club; bowling and playing cards.
She is survived by her son, James Blair (Pauline) Siteman, Sydney Forks; her grandson, Rev. M. Elliott (Wendy Faye) Siteman, New Glasgow; great-grandaughter, Magdalene and her half-sister, Viola Lombard, Yarmouth.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Rudolf, and grandson, Andrew, also by brothers, Herman, Victor and Charles, half-sister, Doris and infant half-brother, Giles.
Visitation for the late Mrs Siteman will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16 at Church of Christ the King, George Street, Sydney. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Church of Christ the King. Burial to follow at Alfred E. Smith Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
