Peacefully with his family by his side at the Riverview Manor in Montague on Friday, December 16, 2011, of Glen Kenneth Johnston of Montague, formerly of Peters Road, age 87 years. Veteran of the Second World War.
Beloved husband of Alice (nee Millar). Dear father of Linda (Douglas Wade), Ottawa; Heather (Paul) vanOuwerkerk, Leduc, AB; and James (Anne), Charlottetown. Cherished grandfather of Jason and Ryan vanOuwerkerk, Olivia Johnston and Owen Wade. Great-grandfather of Oliver and Hendrik vanOuwerkerk. Brother of Lois Shipley, Montague. Predeceased by brothers Aurell, Lorne, Reginald, Ernest, John, Gerald and sister Lillian MacLaren.
Resting at Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home from where the service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment in the Peters Road Cemetery. Visitation: Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
If so desired, memorials to the Peters Road Cemetery Fund or to the Stroke Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital or the Kings County Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.
Members of the Montague Branch #8 of the Royal Canadian Legion will have a service of remembrance for their comrade at the funeral home on Monday at 6:45 p.m. All comrades invited to attend.
