INNIS, ELSIE - It is with heavy hearts and loving memories that the family of Elsie Innis announces her passing at Miramichi Regional Hospital on December 18, 2011 of their beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother at the age of 90. Born in Lower Newcastle she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Claire (Girouard) Creamer. Elsie was a devoted wife, mother and home maker, who will be fondly remembered for her famous cinnamon rolls and boiled icing for family Birthday cakes. She was happiest when surrounded by a houseful of family and friends. Elsie was a faithful member of St Peter and St Paul Parish. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Jack Innis in August 2011, one sister Mitzi Sugden, special cousin Elsie Washburn and brother-in-law Elmer Smith. She is survived by children, Marylou Gillis (Don) of Dartmouth, NS, Joe (Cherrill) of Lower Newcastle, Joan Sobey (Boyd) of Woodstock, NB, Herbie (Elizabeth) of Riverview, NB, eight grandchildren, Michael, Robert and Stephen Gillis, Sharlene Innes, Shelly Williamson, Jennifer Beecher, Wendy MacIsaac and Kelly Innes as well as 10 great grandchildren. Also survived by sister Ann Smith, special cousin Eugene Breau, niece Lianne, nephews, Lorne and Ralph.
Mrs. Elsie Innis is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St Peter and St Paul Roman Catholic Church, Bartibog, with Father Allison Mahoney and Father Leon Creamer officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot of the church cemetery. In Elsie’s memory donations to Miramichi Senior Citizens Bus Fund, St Peter and St Paul Building Fund or a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated.
