The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, of Walter J. Doucette, formerly of DeBlois, aged 86 years. Veteran of the Second World War. He was born in DeBlois on Aug. 26, 1923, the son of the late Joseph Alexis and Grace (Handrahan) Doucette. He is survived by sisters Eleanor Arsenault, Moncton, and Ada Arsenault, Charlottetown, and a brother Abby Doucette, Kitchener, Ont. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Grace, sisters Zita, Hilda, Auldine and Marjorie, brothers Chester, Clifford, Patrick, Oswald and Boswell. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Monday 6-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. Funeral will be held Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 3:30 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Tignish Legion members will hold a service of remembrance at 6:45 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
