After a courageous year's battle with cancer, Dennis Richard Dahl of Kamloops, BC passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice, in Kamloops.

Dennis was born in Chilliwack and raised on the family dairy farm in Sumas Prairie, BC. He attended Upper Sumas Elementary School and then graduated from Abbotsford Senior Secondary School. He attended Simon Fraser University and was employed some years at Brunette Machine Works in New Westminster, BC with his brother Dave. Later he moved to Barriere, BC and was involved with the logging industry. After a move to Kamloops he worked for the Lake City Casino for over 13 years, and owned his own newspaper distribution business which he operated for 13 years.

He was the youngest of eight children born to the late John and Anna Dahl.

He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, George, Albert and Irvin.

Dennis will forever be remembered by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carmen Dahl, and loving children Christopher Dahl and Gemma Dahl; his devoted brothers John and wife Jean, David and wife Faith, and Les and wife Miriam; loving sister Anne Miller, and caring in-laws Bradley Smith and Miriam Kappmeier, along with countless friends and family whom were blessed to know him.

Dennis was an avid reader and well versed in all matter of subjects, cooking, a connoisseur of music, and gardening with his devoted dogs, Lulu and Olle. Spending time with his family was very important to him. Dennis touched the lives of many people with his wit and generosity, and maintained his trademark dry sense of humor all the way to the end. It was his desire to be a help to others by participating in the clinical cancer trial in Vancouver.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, December 22nd, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, all donations be sent to the wonderful people who gave such wonderful care for Dennis in his time of need at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice, 72 S. Whiteshield Crescent, Kamloops, BC.
