Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Twomey Health Care Centre in Botwood on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, Mr. Melvin Gordon Rose, age 80 years of English Harbour West. Leaving to mourn his loving family: wife, Beryl; daughter, Peggy and husband, Ray Bartlett, at New Glasgow, NS; sons, Glen and wife, Norma, at Botwood, and, Sam and wife, Barbara, at Milltown; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother, John, and wife, Mona, at English Harbour West; sisters, Maude, and husband, Jim Strowbridge, at Corner Brook, Eunice at Belleoram, Mildred at Corner Brook, Henrietta (Hettie), and husband, Reg Blagdon, at English Harbour West; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his mother, Joy, and father, Cecil; son, Melvin; brother, Fred; sister, Jean. Funeral service was held on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 2:00 pm from St. Thomas Anglican Church in English Harbour West with Rev. Mildred Tobin officiating. Interment of ashes followed at the Anglican Cemetery in English Harbour West.
