Passed peacefully away at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, after a lifetime of illness, on Monday, December 19, 2011, William John King, aged 78 years. Predeceased by his parents, William and Flora; son, John William; three brothers and two sisters. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 53 years, Verlie (nee Giles); six daughters: Christine, Sharon, Vera, Wanda, Cathy and Tammy; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother; four sisters; special friend Robert Williams and his guardian angel, Christine Giles. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from Bauline United Church. Interment to follow in the United Cemetery, Pouch Cove Line. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Janeway Children’s Hospital.
