Peter Henry Gerrior, age 63 of Thorburn, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by his family and friends after a hard fought battle with multiple illnesses.
He was the son of the late James and Margaret (Petipas) Gerrior.
Peter was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, also an avid fisherman with a great love of the outdoors with family and friends.
Peter will be missed by his wife Mary (Naugle), Thorburn; sons, Peter (Georgina), Westville; David (Martina), Westville; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; brothers: Douglas (Judy), New Glasgow; Leonard (Valerie), New Glasgow; Darrell “Joe” (Dena), Pictou Landing; William (Tanya), New Glasgow; sisters: Ellen (Jim) Clancy, Ottawa; Margaret Ann Robson (Johnny), Thorburn; Barbara Joyce Feltmate, New Glasgow; Marilyn “Honey” (Jerry) Wallace, Pictou; Gabby George, New Glasgow; Wendy (Fred) Benoit, Thorburn.
He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Donald.
His remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
