MERIGOMISH – John “Harley” Kellock, age 38, of Merigomish passed away suddenly Saturday, November 14th, 2009, as the result of a motorcycle accident.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the eldest son of Sandy and Dianne (Livingstone) Kellock.
Harley had been a resident of Merigomish for the past eight years. Harley was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church. Harley graduated from East Pictou Rural High School, 1989; following which he pursued his education at Dalhousie University, Halifax, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, 1993. Harley was employed in the Engineering Department at Sobeys Head Office, as a project manager and was also president of the Northumberland Windfield Project, something which he was very passionate about. Harley’s life was taken far too soon to accomplish all his dreams and plans. He had a very creative mind and a very artistic hand. Harley loved nature, his dirt bike and was very proud of his vineyard. His proudest moments were his time with Riley and Lauren.
Besides Harley’s parents he is survived by his loving wife and first love, Tracy (Miller) Kellock, precious children, Riley and Lauren, both at home; best friend and brother, Rand, Calgary; maternal grandparents, John and June Livingstone, New Glasgow; dear father and mother-in-law, David and Marcella Miller, Merigomish; and brother-in-law, Doug Miller, Merigomish; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Earl and Margaret Kellock.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, November 18th at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 19th at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Meredith Marple, Rev. Charles McPherson, Rev. Jeanne Straight and Rev. Hal Llewelyn officiating. Burial will be in Merigomish Cemetery.
Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Harley may be made to his children Riley and Lauren’s educational fund or Merigomish United Church.
