BEAUCHAMP - Louis Honore Joseph passed away peacefully at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Louis was born on May 7, 1928 in Gravelbourg, SK and grew up on the farm at Frenchville, SK. He attended the Beauchamp School and worked for a farmer around Neville. On November 10, 1954 he married the love of his life, Leona Laturnus and together had 6 children; Yvette, Louise, Leo, Clara, Linda and Josephine. He farmed at Frenchville for many years, until he semi-retired in 1979, moving closer to Swift Current. He then fully retired in 2003 and moved into Swift Current. Louis loved riding horses, working with animals, hunting, gardening, carpentry, rodeos, attending auction sales, going out for coffee and especially a good game of cards. Louis was predeceased by his parents Honore and Bertha Beauchamp, stepfather Jean-Louis Savard, brother John Beauchamp, daughter Louise and sons-in-law Bob Graham and Roger Malley. Louis is survived by his wife Leona, children Yvette (Clay) Gardner, Leo (Loreen) Beauchamp, Clara Newton (finance Steve), Linda (Gerald) Enns, Josephine Malley (friend Alec), 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother Guy Beauchamp, numerous brothers & sisters-in-law as well as many nieces & nephews. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Alpine Church of God with Pastor Alex Allan officiating. Ushers were Darren Laturnus and Ryan Laturnus. The piano was played by Sharon Penny. Louis's daughters Yvette Gardner and Linda Enns read the eulogy. Scripture readers were granddaughters, Jennifer Graham and Barbara Graham. Louis's nephew, Paul Beauchamp read the poem, "The Cowboy's Prayer". Honorary pallbearers were family and friends whose lives have been touched by Louis throughout the years. Active pallbearers were Louis's grandsons, Clinton Beauchamp, Dustin Beauchamp, Allan Enns, Jeffrey Enns, Vincent Malley and Travis Malley. Interment service followed at the Frenchville Cemetery, Admiral District, SK. Memorial donations can be made in Louis's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4R 2P6.
