Passed away suddenly but peacefully at St. Luke’s Home, on December 22, 2011, Shirley Louise Squires, age 81 years. Predeceased by her husband Bill, her parents Rupert and Mabel, sister Florence (Harold), her in-laws Julia and Malcolm. Leaving to mourn her children: Glenn (Penny), Shirley Lynn Ryan (Joe- deceased April 2011), Clark (Christine), Lori (Jean Robert) and Scott; her grandchildren: Mark and David (Christa) Penney, John (Robyn) and Stephen (Patti) Squires, Erin (Matt) Cameron, Glenn McIsaac, Michael Squires, Madyson, Spencer and Sophia Squires; great- grandchildren: Luke, Brady, Evey, Jeffery, Jessica and Max; her sisters: Jean Clarke (Derry-deceased), Mabel Counsell (John-deceased); brother and sister-in-law Cal and Daphne Squires; many loving nieces, nephews and other family members and friends in St. John’s and Halifax, also her friends and staff at St. Luke’s Homes, especially those on Fairhaven. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., on Saturday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., on Monday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Monday, December 26th, 2011, from the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
