MCKINNEY, THOMAS - It is with sadness the family announce the passing of Thomas Patrick McKinney, loving husband of 64 years to Mary (Connell) McKinney, which occurred on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1923 in Saint John he was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Olivia (Quinlan) McKinney. In his earlier years he worked for Stephen’s Construction, then for ILA Local 273 and most recently he was President and Business Agent for the Labor’s International Union. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by sons Gregory (Donna) and Tommy (Cathy) both of Saint John; daughters Margaret (Eldon) Dubee of Saint John, Frances Raymond of Calgary, AB and Brenda McKinney of Saint John; brothers Johnny (Joan) and Peter; sisters Theresa Jenkins and Genevieve Cripps both of Hamilton, ON; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a daughter Theresa McKinney; brothers Joseph, William, Frederick, Leo and Gregory and a sister Margaret in infancy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). By his request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated from Stella Maris Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 12:05 pm.
