HERZOG- Lawrence Joseph, late of Battleford, SK passed away on November 12, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Lawrence was born June 15, 1919. He grew up in the Mayview district, where he bought his first quarter of land in 1939. He was called to the army in 1940 and shortly after that he met Ruth (Herdin), who would be his wife for 64 years. He farmed with this brother Herman until retirement to Prince Albert in 1981. He fought numerous battles with cancer over the last 25 years and was hospitalized on October 17, 2009 where he passed away at the Battleford Union Hospital. Lawrence is survived by his wife Ruth of Battleford, SK; daughter Beverley (Morgan) Partridge of Sherwood Park, AB; son Loren (Kathy) Herzog of Mayview, SK; daughter Linda (Andrew) Fehr of Battleford, SK; son Verdy (Jeannie) Herzog of Calgary, AB; daughter Valerie (Keith) Anderson of Battleford, SK; 13 grandsons, 9 granddaughters, 21 great grandchildren, his 4 brothers Bob (Marie) Herzog of Mayview, SK; Alban Herzog of Prince Albert, SK; Arnold Herzog of Shellbrook, SK and Norbert Herzog of Vermillion, SB. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents Fred Herzog on August 31, 1958; Agnes (nee Billisburger) Herzog on March 2,1985; his 7 brothers Bill in 1976; Fred in 1998, Ed in 1999, Herman in 1998, Leonard in 1988, Clarence in 1992 and Ken in 2009; his 2 sisters Julie in 1997 and Agnes in 2001; his sisters-in-law and his brothers-in-law. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:30 AM at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 11-18th Street East, Battleford, SK with Fr. Greg Elder officiating.
