PHYLLIS ANNE WALKER
December 2, 1934 - November 16, 2009
Phyllis passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday, November 16, 2009. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Victor; daughters, Sandy (Dennis Nordstrom) Calgary, Judy (Ron Bigsby) Calgary; four wonderful grandchildren, Cynthia, Alexander, Steven, Adam; and her 99-year-old mother, Vivian Howard. Phyllis was predeceased by her sister, Judith and her father, Edwin Westlund. Phyllis grew up and attended school in Brownlee, SK and later trained as a Registered Nurse at Moose Jaw Union Hospital. She married Victor Walker in 1958 and they lived in Estevan where Phyllis worked at St. Josephs Hospital. In 1967 the family moved to Saskatoon and after her daughters grew up she worked at The Bay for many years. Phyllis loved to play golf in the summer and curl in the winter as well as being very artistic in painting and needlepoint. She also enjoyed many years of fellowship in the Saskatoon K-ette Club. The family expresses a special thanks to the Palliative Homecare team, Dr. Dahl, and staff at the Cancer Clinic. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 1:30 p.m. at Mayfair United Church. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. After arrangements at Prairie View Crematorium, interment will be at The Columbarium, Spadina Cres., Saskatoon.
