Shauna McCarthy, 42, of Halifax/Sydney, passed away November 17, 2009 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of Miles McCarthy, Abbotsford, BC and the late Linda McCarthy.
Shauna loved art and books, and was a talented artist. Her greatest joy was her niece and nephew, Sarah and Paul and her cat, Malley. She was a graduate of UCCB and worked for a number of years with Pratt & Whitney Canada.
Shauna is survived by sister, Cheryl Irvine-Moore (Dave) of Kingston, ON; niece, Sarah Moore and nephew, Paul Moore; aunt, Karen Low; cousins, Kim Forsyth, Dr. Shannon MacDonald, Cathy MacDonald and many other family members.
She is predeceased by maternal grandparents, David and Lestra Irvine.
Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2009, 6-8 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax where a chapel service will be held, Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Feed Nova Scotia or the SPCA.
