It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Myrtle Elaine Blackmore on November 10, 2009. Myrtle is predeceased by her husband, Harry, her parents, James Stanley and Annie Mae Hilts, her sister Evelyn (Derrick) Coward, her brothers Jim (Georgina) Hilts and Stan (Shirley) Hilts. She is survived by her brother, Gary (Maxine) Hilts of Regina, SK, her sister-in-law Jean (Jack) Phinn of Oshawa, ON, brother-in-law, Dalton Blackmore of London, ON, and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her special friend, Marg and friends Jim, Brian, Sue, Bradley, Ian and Bonnie of Woodstock, ON. Myrtle was born January 8, 1925 in Drinkwater, SK. She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II. There, she met and married her husband, Harry. They were dairy and fruit farmers in Beachville, ON. She later worked for Doctor Town in Woodstock, ON until she retired. Myrtle was an intelligent, loving and kind person that cared deeply for he family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, crosswords, solitaire, yard work, needlepoint and knitting. She was energetic, fun-loving and enjoyed life. Her philosophy in life was "Don't worry, it may never happen." The family would like to extend and special thank you to all of Myrtle's friends and neighbours that loved and cared for her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Woodstock Hospital Fund. Myrtle will be laid to rest beside her husband, Harry, at Fairview Cemetery at Drinkwater, SK. at a later date.
