Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre on Wed., Nov. 18th, 2009, Bert Barnes of Topsail, age 86, retired employee of CNR. Predeceased by infant son Edgar. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories Olga his devoted wife of 63 years; his children: Joyce Howe (Spencer), Linton (Olga), Ann Barrett (Howard), Lloyd (Margaret), Albert (Sandra), Mary Dawe (Terry), Shirley Tobin and Michael, twenty-three grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a large circle of relatives and friends, especially the Golden Age Seniors Club, CBS. At his request cremation has taken place. Visitation at Hickey’s Funeral Home, Kelligrews, Friday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place Sat., Nov. 21st. at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist, Topsail. Inurnment to follow.
