It is with heavy hearts and deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother and sister on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at her home.
Born in Sydney Mines on May 15, 1953, Freda was the daughter of the late Lauchie and Marion (Davis) MacIntosh. She was a member of St. Pius X Parish, Sydney Mines.
Freda had a heart of gold, and touched the lives of all that knew her. Many will fondly remember Freda as the “Store Lady” from Blackie’s Dairy. Her life was enriched with fond memories from all the neighbourhood families.
Freda leaves behind to mourn her son Roddy (Jody), North Sydney; brothers Terry (Josepha), Sydney Mines, Greg MacIntosh, Lower Sackville; sisters Mary Knight, Milton, Ontario, Sheila (John) Snow, North Sydney, Cindy (Bill) Hyde, Sydney Mines; her precious granddaughter Keslyn, who was Nanny's pride and joy; her special friend Enos Ashe, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Freda was predeceased by brother Lauchie (Bud), her sister Anita, and a sister Betty in infancy.
Visitation for Freda Ferguson will be held today (Thursday), December 29, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Donations in Freda’s memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
