LANDRY, Louis Cyril – 92, The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, and formerly of Amirault’s Hill, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 in the home. Born August 25, 1919 in Amirault’s Hill, he was a son of the late Jérémie and Thérèse (Pothier) Landry. Cyril worked as an electrician, and he was a veteran of the second World War, having served with the Coastal Patrol. He is survived by a son, Louis (Lois) Landry, Manchester, NH, as well as by grandchildren, Jason, Ritchie, Mike and Theresa, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Ferrera) Landry; a daughter, Dorothy Best; brothers, Fred, Raphael and Benoit, and a sister, Rose d’Eon. Visitation took place from 7-9 Tuesday evening, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 28 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc, c.j.m., officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation or to Holy Family Church.
