It is with broken hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of Donna Marlene Barrie, 49, of Coxheath, NS, with her husband by her side.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Bernie Barrie and two daughters, whom she adored, Karalyn and Cheryl Barrie, both of Coxheath.
Donna is also survived by her son, Ryan (Heidi) Kirby of Pictou, NS.
She leaves to mourn her siblings and their families, Dwayne (Barbara, Brittany, David and Sheldon) Nichol, Bradley (Juanita) Nichol, Robbie (Mary Ruth) Joseph, Natalie (Chris and Nicole) Best; as well as sister, Karen and her children, Noah and Whitney. Donna was very close with the Barrie family, Bernie’s parents, Phyllis and Kerry and siblings, Michael (Leanna, Lauren, Bradley and Kyle) Barrie and Tanya (Carl, Brianna and Sean) Campbell. The MacQueen family (Heather, Ashley, Art, and Mark) have also been a cherished part of her life, and Bernie's close friends have been so caring at this difficult time.
Donna leaves behind many people who were very special to her, including a large extended family and many friends. Donna was referred to as a “second Mom” to many.
Donna was predeceased by her mother, Carolyn (Halloran) Joseph and grandparents, Greta and Ben Halloran.
Donna was passionate about her roles as a wife, mother and friend. She loved gardening and painting. Her spirit, of helping others needing a friend, is a special memory.
Gifts of flowers or donations, in memory of Donna's special angels, Carolyn and Vicki, to support breast cancer awareness or another charity of choice are welcome.
