SMITH - Colleen Smith passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the age of 51 years. Her husband and best friend, Perry Faulk was by her side at the time of her passing. Colleen was born on July 16, 1960 and was the beloved daughter of Jerry and Vernie Smith and baby sister to Gord. As a youngster she enjoyed a variety of activities including dancing. Colleen often commented on her Mom’s exceptional talent as a seamstress as she recalled the beautiful dance outfits she created for the recitals. Colleen also enjoyed sharing stories about the summers she spent with her family, at the cabin in Cypress Hills. Colleen went to school in Swift Current graduating from the Comprehensive High School in 1978. She then attended SIAST in Saskatoon training as a Dental Assistant. Colleen worked in this field for a number of years before changing her career path and returning to school in Medicine Hat to become a Message Therapist. It was here that Colleen met the love of her life, Perry Faulk whom she fondly referred to as Zeke. She and Zeke created a beautiful home and life together in Medicine Hat. They spent many hours enjoying their yard, planning their next home renovation project and playing with their dogs Henry and Odie. Colleen enjoyed reading which contributed to her ability as a great conversationalist and a good listener. In addition to spending time with Zeke, Colleen enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She especially appreciated the time she spent with her life-long friend Linda Krochak. Colleen was predeceased by her mother Vernie in 1983 and her stepbrother Jim Armstrong (Angela) in 2003. She will be remembered by her husband Perry Faulk; father, Jerry and stepmother, Betty Lou; brother, Gord (Carol); nephew, Will Smith; stepbrother, Bob Armstrong (Sharon); stepsister, Shanon Armstrong (Ron Kesslar); Zeke’s family: his brother, Brian (Kathy) Faulk and their family; as well as Colleen’s cousins, Islay (Dave Holmes), Ron Smith (Vicki), Joan (Wayne Peters), and Susan Smith.
