CASEY, Marguerite "Mickey" (nee Arab) peacefully passed away after 85 years of love, surrounded by her family. Born in Halifax, in the parish of St Patrick's, Mickey spent her early years involved in school athletics, music and social gatherings of family and friends. She enjoyed horseback riding, badminton, dancing, bowling, playing scrabble and volunteering as a Boy Scout Leader. her life long commitment to music included memberships in the prestigious Armdale Choir where she formed many lasting friendships. Mickey was deeply devoted to her faith, active in her church and CWL. She loved to sing and remained a member of her church choir until her passing.

Mickey was a graduate of Miss Murphy's Business College and worked in a secretarial position in HMC Dockyard. It was there that she met her husband, Ken, on the badminton court at Stadacona. She lovingly dedicated her life to her husband and to raising their 4 girls; providing a caring and nurturing home. Summers were spent at the family cottage at Trout Lake where she gathered many cherished memories of happy times with family, friends and serving food. She was the most special mom and Nana that anyone could ask for. Her love lives on in daughter Lisanne (Brian) O'Laughlin and grandsons Casey and Keighan; daughter Patianne Casey and grandchildren Sarah and Matthew and great grand daughter Dylan; daughter Marianne (Guy) Roy and grandchildren Alyssa, Aidan and Abbie; daughter Julianne (Stephen) Girouard and grandsons Evan, Grant and Conner. She is also survived by her bothers Joseph and Frank Arab, sisters Jennie Haywood and Catherine Cable as well as many special nieces and nephews and extended family whom she dearly loved. Our mom was a special light to all whom she met. Mickey was predeceased by her husband Ken, parents Racheda and James Arab, brothers Charlie and Leo and sister Sadie Cooke. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday 24 November at Snow's Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr.. Halifax. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday 25 Nov at 10:00 a.m. from St. Agnes Church, Mumford Road, Halifax. Internment of ashes to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
