The death occurred peacefully, at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, of Albert “Junior” Gallant of Summerside, aged 76 years. Veteran of the Korean War. Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Albert “Knobby” and Mary Anne “Annie” (Poirier) Gallant. Left to mourn are his children, John (Connie) Gallant, St. Eleanors, Belinda (Grant) Beairsto, Kensington, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Valerie (Jim) Pelly, Bridgetown, N.S., his stepmother, Mildred Gallant, Summerside, stepbrothers, Dougie (Connie) Gallant, Darnley, Garth (Susan) Gallant, Summerside, stepsisters, Julie (Gary) Dugay, Fernwood, and Alberta (Art) Pringle, Hamilton. Predeceased by his two brothers, Bobby and Paul Gallant. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where a private family service will be held on Wednesday. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. No visitation by personal request. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of PEI would be appreciated.
