EMBLETON, MABEL VIVIAN - Mabel V. Embleton of York Mills, York Co., NB passed away January 3, 2012 at Oromocto Public Hospital. Born at York Mills, NB in 1917, she was a daughter of the late Lorne and Mina (Little) Little. Mabel was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church and The Harvey Golden Age Senior’s Club. For a number of years, Mabel was employed at Briggs and Little Woolen Mills as a secretary. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano at York Mills Music Nights and volunteering her music talents at many other social events. She is survived by a daughter, Lori Brewer (Larry), York Mills, NB; two sons, Brian (Pete) Embleton (Marilyn), Fredericton, NB and Terry Embleton (Marie), Magaguadavic, NB; a daughter-in-law, Dene Embleton, Harvey, NB; a son-in-law, Leslie Little, York Mills, NB; eleven grandchildren, Tracey Messer, Tammy DeMerchant, Michelle Breede, Bobbi Stillwell, Stacey Agar, Scott Embleton, Jason Embleton, Shari Embleton, Patti Embleton, Kim Johnson and Connie Hickey; twenty great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two sisters, Roxie Hood, Magaguadavic, NB and Ethel Dorcas, McAdam, NB; a sister-in-law, Anna Little, York Mills, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lester Embleton; a daughter, Joan Little; a son, John Embleton; two grandsons, Randy Little and infant Paul Little; a son-in-law, Michael McDade; sisters, Tressa Vail, Elizabeth Little and Sylvia Little; brothers, Elwood, Claude and Amos Little.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, Harvey Station on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Harvey, NB on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment at Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
