SIMA, BERNICE - Bernice Gloria Sima, 85, of Harrisonburg, VA, U.S.A., passed away January 1, 2012. Her health declined as she battled Lewy body dementia. Mrs. Sima was born December 13, 1926 in New Brunswick, Canada to the late Norman William and Etta Mae Hicks Steeves. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Christy S. Sima in 1991 and her brother, Gerald N. Steeves in 2006. Surviving family include her three daughters, Karen Parmenter and husband, Robert of Harrisonburg,VA, Janet B. Koza and Norma J. Hanks and husband, Norbert Cloutier all of Oxford, Massachusetts; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; step-son, Earl Howard of Maine and sister-in-law, Lynne Steeves of Worcester, Massachusetts. Bernice was a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and was employed in health care as a nurse’s aid. She relocated in 1994 to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia to be close to her daughter and became active in the local chapter of the A.A.R.P.
