Myrtle Bertha Farnsworth was born August 6th, 1916. She was the youngest child of eight born to Olaf and Selma Peterson. She grew up at the Hawley district east of Congress. She went to Hawley School up to grade 8. She then went working up in Edmonton until the war, then moved back to Saskatchewan. In 1941 she married Fred Farnsworth and they farmed in the Ardill district. In 1944 they had their daughter Darlene and in 1949 they had their son Delwyn. In 1950 the family survived a train accident and kept on farming. In 1966 she moved to Moose Jaw and was very active in art and painting classes and had a love for dancing. She had a great love for all her grandchildren and spent many hours baking cookies ~ or as she once said "I have literally made a ton of cookies!". In 1994 she had a quadruple by-pass and way surpassed the doctors expectation of living. In 2000 she moved up to Saskatoon to be closer to her children. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Ethel, Arnold, Annett, Roy, Violet, Bill and has a surviving sister Hazel and sister-in-law Minnie. She leaves to mourn her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In Myrtle's memory donations may be made to the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre (202 Avenue C South S7M 1N2). The Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday November 29th, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church (323 4th Avenue South, Saskatoon, SK) at 3 pm; friends and relatives are welcome. Cremation.
