Passed away unexpectedly at the Health Sciences Complex surrounded by many members of her devoted family on January 1, 2012. Predeceased by parents: Charles and Gertrude Crewe; six brothers and sisters. Left to mourn her loving husband Philip A.; daughters: Betty Priddle (Harvey) of Carbonear and Donna Davis (Billy); sons: David (Glenys) of Calgary, Alberta and Gary (Linda) of Gloucester, Ontario; six adored grandchildren: Brad (Lesley), Gregory, Katie (Jeff), Sarah, Kelly (Stefano) and Steven (Jennifer); three great-grandchildren: Evan, Kate and Liam; sister: Gertrude Rose of Dorchester, Massachusetts and brother Doug Crewe (Ada); along with special friend: Marion Green. At Melita’s long-standing request there will be no visitation. Melita’s family sincerely thanks the staff on the third floor east wing of Chancellor Park for their care and kindness during the past three months. A private funeral service and interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Melita’s memory to St. James United Church, Kiwanis Music Festival of St. John’s or VON.
