At the Prince County Hospital on Sunday, November 22, 2009, Gordon William Trowsdale, surrounded by his family, beloved husband of Doris (nee Ridsdill) Trowsdale, aged 78 of Freeland. Born at Cape Traverse on February 24, 1931, son of the late William and Lottie (nee MacLeod) Trowsdale. Father of Ricky (Janice) Trowsdale, Summerside, Debbie (Erland) Millar, Birch Hill, Fay MacLeod (George Bridges), Summerside and Sandra (Wendell) Hardy, Freeland. Grandfather of Tanya, Tara, Anthony, Joey, Ernest, Cory, Melissa, Jimmy, Lynn, Kyle, William, Tyler and Jordon. Great-grandfather of Alyssa, Reese, Carson, Sebastian and Christian. Brother of Wayne (Janice), Bideford, Clinton, Summerside and Verna Gillis, Mississauga, ON. Brother-in-law of Vern Howatt, Frankford, ON., June Williams, N.S., Joyce Thibideau, Frank Ridsdill, Bob Ridsdill and Jim Merrick, all of Toronto, ON. Predeceased by sisters Helen and Mary, brothers-in-law Wendell and Hans. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Tuesday 6-9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday at Freeland Presbyterian Church, Freeland at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Freeland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Transportation West Inc. or IWK would be appreciated.
