BOOMER, Lillian M. “Lil” – 92, Townsview Estates, formerly of Brookfield, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, January 4, 2012, at Townsview Estates with her son, Terry, at her side. Born September 24, 1919, in Brookfield, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Rosie (Williams) McDonald. Lillian was a life time resident of Brookfield, where she was an active member of Knox United Church, Veterans Widow and Widowers Club and Senior Citizens Club. She also enjoyed bowling with the 60+ league at the Bible Hill Bowlacade. She worked as a Floor Lady at Stanfields for 20 years. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Lillian is survived by her son, Terry (Beverly), Brookfield; grandchildren, Tanya Boomer (Basil Baker), Jason Boomer (Jennifer Daley), Joey Boomer (Brandy White); great grandchildren, Nadia, Erykah, Kaelan, Hayden, Brittney. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Arthur Boomer; sister, Dorothy Jean in infancy. Special thanks are extended to the wonderful staff at Townsview Estates for the loving care provided to Lillian. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Lillian’s family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012, and where the funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012, Reverend Larry Harrison officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Brookfield Westside Cemetery. Flowers or donations in Lillian’s memory to Kidney Foundation, Nova Scotia Branch are welcomed.
