Ronald Delmain “Ron” Sheffield - 74, of East Ferry, Digby County formerly of Arlington, Kings County, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in the Digby General Hospital, Digby. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Mertis (Arnold) Sheffield. As a young man he enjoyed working on fishing trawlers out of Shelburne. Ron was a “Jack of all trades” from carpentry to auto mechanics, If you needed it - he could make it. He had a love for music and building guitars and would do a favour for anyone he met. He was known as a primitive artist and has pieces of his work all over the world. He is survived by a sister, Valrie (John) Blanchard, Upper Dyke, Kings County; two nieces, Amy Blanchard and Lorri Buttler; companion, Marjorie Theriault; step-children, Cindy, Dwayne, Randy, Craig; several step-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his dog, Rudy. Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service and reception at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Jeff Cowan officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Arlington Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and volunteers of the Digby General Hospital for their care, kindness and compassion.
