May 4, 1924 - November 23, 2009. Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, Capt. Jacob Hunt of St. John’s, formerly of Badger’s Quay. Predeceased by his wife Sarah Jane in 1997. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons: Howard (Gladys), Richard (Carol) and daughters: Judy (Eric), Nina Adey (Wayne), Beverley Fennelly (Paul) and Janice Drake (Christopher); special friend Rita Drake; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Neta Parsons (Martin), Olive Winter, Louise Cutler (William) and Florence Rogers; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. from Gower Street United Church with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
