The family wishes to announce the passing or our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. Beatrice passed into the arms of our Lord and Saviour at her home in Cara House, Northside Community Guest Home, on Jan., 7, 2012, at the age of 93.
Beatrice was born Aug, 3, 1918, in Lamaline, Nfld., one of eight children to the late Fred and Lydia Mae Hepditch.
Beatrice and her family survived the tidal wave of November 1929, in Newfoundland, and she went on to marry Lewis Bonnell. They immigrated to North Sydney with three small children and later settled in Leitches Creek and raised their family of eight. Mom loved her family gatherings and was always interested in what the children were doing. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of three more great-grandchildren in 2012.
Beatrice leaves to mourn her sons, Howard, (Judy) North Sydney, Claude (Phyliss), Middleton, Derek (Shirley), Georges River, Melvin (Judy), Leitches Creek, Art (Vicki), Regina, Ray (Elayne), Ottawa, Lou (Mary), Coxheath and her only daughter, Mildred (Lorne) Jennex, Leitches Creek. She will be fondly remembered by 22 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Beatrice is also survived by a loving sister, Dorothy (Gilbert) Ivany, Sydney.
Besides her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her husband, Lewis John in 1998; brothers, Fred, William, Cyril, Stanley; sisters, Mary, Mildred (in infancy) and great-grandson, Harry.
Mom (Nanny) was a true matriarch of our family, and through her love and guidance made us a very close knit family. Mom (Nanny), we will truly miss you, but will treasure all the wonderful memories you gave to us. We love you.
