Catherine Brewer passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Herbert, Saskatchewan at the age of 98 years. The Memorial service was held at the Chapel of Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 11:00 am with Pastor Christine Ciona Officiating. Catherine is survived by son Wallace (Peggy) Brewer; grandsons Billy (Tara) Brewer and Ace; Brent (Lorena) Doyle and Trisha, Twyla and Ricki; granddaughters Gwen Williams and Dallas (Amanda) and Latasha; Denise (Chad) Krusky and Danielle, Takota and Lee. She was predeceased by parents Ernst (Nora) Grossehmig, husband Bill Brewer, brothers Bill Grossehmig, Shorty (Maria) Grossehmig, sisters Christine (Ansgar) Aschim and Emma (Orie) Turner. Catherine was born July 25, 1911 at Hodgeville, Saskatchewan. She attended school at Norfolk School and married William (Bill) Brewer on October 20, 1931. Catherine and Bill then operated the family farm together. She was a member of the Morse United Church and Morse Royal Purple. Catherine enjoyed travelling extensively with her sister Christine. In later years Katie moved from the farm to Morse, Saskatchewan and then to Central Butte, Saskatchewan. She then lived a short while in the Bentley at Swift Current and finally into the Herbert Nursing Home. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
