MARY FRANCES JOSEPHINE DORAY (nee Kennelly)
August 21, 1935 – December 8, 2011
Mary was born in Prince George, and passed away in her sleep in her own home.
Mom, Gramma and Great-Gramma will be very much missed by her daughter Moirin Webster; grandchildren Carly Westmoreland (Jason), Brenden Salter, Jonathan Webster (Elana) and Kevin Webster; and great-grandchildren Emily and Nathan Webster. Mary was predeceased by sons Blaine and Gordon.
Mary was a lively and caring person, a terrific hostess and a marvellous chef.
In the early ‘70s Mary moved to the Sunshine Coast, where together with her partner John Doray, they settled on Pratt Road in the old farmhouse on the historic Hough Dairy Farm property. This is where they started Quality Farms.
After John’s death, Mary continued living at the farm while becoming a travel agent, where she finally got to indulge her passionate dream of travelling the world. After selling the farm, she moved to her last residence, the townhouse on Farnham, where she delighted in her family, friends, potted garden and, of course, her world travels.
Her friends and family will remember her as a gutsy, larger-than-life personality with a rollicking and delightful, bawdy sense of humour.
Rest in peace, Mary. You will be deeply missed.
The celebration of Mary’s life will be held this summer.
