It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Paul Michael Gibbons on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the age of 39 years.
John was born in Timmins, Ontario on September 2, 1970. He moved to Kamloops with his family in 1980. After attending St. Ann's Academy and Kamloops Senior Secondary he went on to complete his welding ticket and acquire a Steel Fabrication Certification.
John enjoyed playing rep-hockey throughout junior and senior high and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He also loved the outdoors and going fishing whenever the opportunity arose. John had a passion for cooking and showed his appreciation and love for others through this.
He will be greatly missed by his parents Roger and Joanne Gibbons, sisters Tracy Patenaude (Kelly) and Alex Gibbons, his nephew, nieces and many aunties, uncles and cousins.
A special thank you to all who cared for John at the Aids Society, the Mission, Kipp Mallery Pharmacy, Henry Leland House, the many staff of R.I.H, and all the people who helped, supported and loved John throughout his life.
A Celebration of John's Life will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral, 360 Nicola Street with The Very Reverend Louise Peters officiating.
