LeFlufy Susan Elizabeth. June 7, 1944¬–December 27, 2011. Died peacefully in Kamloops Hospice with her son Jason at her side. Susan got her undergraduate English and Education degrees at UBC, raised two sons, and devoted her professional life to teaching elementary school in West Vancouver. She will be remembered by friends and colleagues for her high professional standards, quiet intelligence, sardonic wit, and understated humour. She achieved the status of 4th seeded tennis player in BC at age 14, won the West Vancouver softball league championship, raced a vintage Austin Healy Sprite at Westwood, and rock climbed with her son Jason in her 60s. Tragically, she was ambushed by a stroke-like brain injury in the first year of her retirement, the effects of which defined the last 5 years of her life. Susan leaves behind her sister Carlynn (Denis) and brothers Bill (Jackie) and John (Ros) and all their families; sons Geoff (Mary) and Jason; and grandsons Kinnon, Rudy, and David. Donations can be made in Susan’s memory to the Kamloops Hospice Association.
