Chuck passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2012, at Scarborough Hospital, after a courageous battle from the effects of several strokes.
Chuck was born in Antigonish but raised in Malagawatch. He was the son of the late James ‘Jim’ and Charlotte MacLean.
Chuck will be missed beyond words by his daughter, Carolyn and son-in-law, Rob. Devoted “Papa” to Leanne and Kyle. Remembered by his son, Brandon Smith. Wonderful “Little” brother to Isabelle Cooper (MacLean) and the late Fr. Langley MacLean. “Big” brother to Naomi (Lee) Walker and Gussie (Lois) MacLean. Beloved by all of his nieces, Charlotte, Cathy, Shauna, Stephanie and Jenny; nephews, Kevin and Larry; grandnieces, Samantha, Brittany and Courtney; grandnephews, Devin, Chad, Corey, Jordan, Shawn, Daniel and Bradley; great-grandnephews, Connor and CJ; great-grandnieces, Jordyn and Jailynn. Will also be missed by his devoted friend, Stuart Killen.
Memorial service will be held at Malagawatch Presbyterian Church this coming spring followed by burial at Malagawatch Cemetery.
