NEW GLASGOW – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Frances Elva (Hemwood) MacDonald, who passed away peacefully on January 11, 2012, at the age of 81, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born on October 30, 1930, and was the youngest daughter of the late Nelson and Elva (Burns) Hemwood, Trenton.
She is survived by daughters, Sharon (David) Hoare, New Glasgow, JoAnne (Glenn) Cantley, Stellarton; sons, Paul (Evie) MacMillan, Trenton; Don (Jenny) MacMillan, Halifax; John MacMillan; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Rose, Valley View Villa; Charlotte MacDonald, Trenton.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by an infant son, Kirk; sisters, Margie Kidd, Montreal; Hazel Reardon, Montreal; Gladys Morey, Trenton; brother, Bob Hemwood, New Glasgow.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A private family committal service will be held at a later date.
