Date de décès : 13 janvier 2012
Dolores passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born and raised in Whitney Pier, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Beatrice (Humphries) Martinello.
Mom worked at Eatons in Sydney, until she met and married Russell in 1950. They raised their children in Sydney River, where she and Dad had a construction business.
Dolores was a member of the Sydney Suburban West Kinettes, and was an avid bridge player for more than forty years.
Dolores was cherished by her late husband, Russell, with whom she spent 58 years. She is survived by her five children, Lynn (JP) Macdonald, Janice (Ken) Leonard, Glenn, Nancy (Steve) Collins and Hal (Trish); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
Dolores was predeceased by her sister, Minnie and brothers, Harry, Frankie, Rudy and Jimmy.
The family would like to thank the staff of the dialysis unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the excellent care and compassion that they have shown to Dolores in the past six years. We would also like to thank the staff of 3A and the palliative care units for their kindness.
At Dolores's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday January 16 at 11 a.m., with Rev Doug Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
