HOBBS, RALPH - Ralph Hobbs of Saint John passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on January 11, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born August 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Howard and Clara (Day) Hobbs. He is survived by his wife Anne (Banks) Hobbs; one son Raymond (Dorota) Hobbs of Calgary; one daughter Karen (Wayne) Hachey of Quispamsis; grandchildren Aimee (Scott) and Shane of Saint John, Michelle (Robert) and Christopher of Calgary; great grandchildren Evan, Noah, Noelle, Carter; one sister Grace (John) Coyle of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Norman, Howard, David, Kenneth and Vernon. Ralph worked in auto parts supplies and service in Saint John. With early retirement, he and Anne operated a pet boarding kennel in Pocologan for ten years and then returned to Saint John. Ralph enjoyed woodworking, ice skating and travelling.
At Ralph’s request, there will be no visitation. Following cremation there will be a memorial service at St. Columba Presbyterian Church (1454 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John, NB E2M3Y3) on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA/Animal Rescue League or Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
