Alexander Macleod, MacLellan’s Brook:
MacLeod, Alexander “Alex” age 85 of MacLellan’s Brook, Pictou County passed away January 13, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born in Inverness, NS. He was a son of the late Duncan and Mary Margaret (MacPhee) MacLeod.
At a young age Alex moved to New Waterford and later to Toronto where he met the love of his life Bernice “Bernie” (Bateman) formerly of Bathurst and Lyons Brook. He worked 41 years at Inglis Limited, retiring in 1989. He loved sports, especially the Toronto Blue Jays and was delighted when he had the opportunity to work at the Dome part time. Alex enjoyed camping, he and Bernie spent many outings at their favorite site ay Presqu’Isle Park. He loved Pictou County and in 1992, they moved “home” settling in MacLellan’s Brook. Alex will always be remembered for his quick wit and his gentle nature. We will miss you Alex.
Alex is survived by his wife Bernie, MacLellan’s Brook; sisters Margaret (Johnny Micholsky), Marie (Vince Butler), brother Paul, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters Mary Bell (Peter), Sarah Gillis (Charlie), brothers John Archie (Bebis), Neil, Hugh Dan, Angus Malcolm, John, Francis Albert (Fabby) and Ernie.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in memory of Alex may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
