The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side, at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 of Ruth Elena Thompson (nee MacLellan) of Summerside, aged 80 years. Ruth was born Sept. 9, 1931, in O’Leary to her late parents Harold and Elena (nee Locke) MacLellan. Beloved wife of the late Reginald Thompson and loving mother of Nancy Poles of Edmonton, Alta., and Greg (Linda) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Matthew, Jacob, Danielle, Branden and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brother Hillard (Marie) of Charlottetown and her sister Ester Lousley of Winnipeg, Man. Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by her daughter Judy. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, Jan. 18, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment to take place in People’s Cemetery, Summerside, at a later date. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only, 6-9 p.m. Memorial donations in Ruth’s memory to the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund or the P.E.I. Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
