On Monday, November 23, 2009 Mr. Jim W. Cavers passed away suddenly at Chase, BC at the age of 43 years.
He is survived by his loving parents Jim and Nancy Cavers and his daughter Chantal Cavers (age 9) of Chase, BC; his fiancee Julie Hall of Kamloops, BC; his sister Anne-Marie (Ian) Morris and four nephews Ryan, Aaron, Christopher and Justin, also cousins, uncles, aunts and extended family in Scotland.
Jim was predeceased by his grandparents in Scotland and James and Thelma Cavers.
Jim was born in Vancouver, BC on October 31, 1966. He moved with his family to Celista, BC at the age of 6 years. Jim attended North Shuswap Elementary and then graduated from Chase Secondary in 1984. Some of his favorite childhood memories were playing ice hockey on the outdoor rink in Scotch Creek and snowmobiling on Crowfoot Mountain. Jim moved to Vancouver at the age of 22 and began his career in the trucking industry; this truly was Jim's passion right up until his death. Trips were always more enjoyable when he would take his daughter Chantal, along with him. Over the years Jim made many close friends in the trucking industry and all were very special to him, especially his good friends Mike and Ron. Jim was a kind and generous man; he will be truly missed by all who knew him.
A special thank you to all of Jim's friends, the community of Chase, and the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for all the kindness and generous donations of food. Words cannot express how much is had been appreciated.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Quaaout / Talking Rock Resort with Garfield Cherskey officiating.
