At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, January 13, 2012, of Edith “Edie” (nee Gale) Burke, of Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, and formerly of Borden-Carleton and Fortune, aged 86 years.
Born in Poole, England, on December 12, 1925, daughter of the late Gerald and Elsie (Foote) Gale. Wife of the late Eldon Burke. Mother of Terry (Linda), Mississauga, Ontario; Gerald (deceased); Derek, Barrie, Ontario; and Karen (Paul) Caissie, Irishtown. Mother-in-law of Eileen Burke, Gravenhurst, Ontario. Grandmother to Tara (Barry) Burke-MacEwan, Ryan (Leanne) Burke, Rodney (Leanne) Burke, Tracy (Mike) Burke-Ferrier, Jason (Melanie) Burke, Angela Burke, Sara, Brye, Matthew and Michael Caissie. Great-grandmother to Miranda, Abigail, Carter and Taylor Burke.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Thursday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley.
