Lake, Norma Evelyn, 80, of Bible Hill, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ruby (Pratt) Brunt.
Norma was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Truro Ladies Auxiliary where she enjoyed working with her many sisters. She also enjoyed the Ladies Christmas Club, Truro. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by sons, Gerald (Debbie), Sudbury, ON, Donald, (friend Norma McNutt), Truro, Robert (Cathy), Truro, sister Mary Murray (Stan), Sudbury, ON; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward Andrew Lake; brother Fred Eagles; sister Ida Wheaton.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 26, Truro, Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a Ladies Auxiliary Tribute Service Tuesday afternoon at 3 pm. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 am, with Dr. Brian Ross officiating followed by a reception in the funeral home. Burial will follow at later date in Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill. Donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the I.W.K. Hospital for Sick Children, Halifax, heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, New Building Fund, Truro.
