January 17, 1932 - September 30, 2006 The family of Mary Madeline Celia Smith sorrowfully announces her passing at Royal Inland Hospital on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the age of 74 years. Mary is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her children Vince (Bev), Lyle (Beth), Dwayne (Ann), Milton (Ruth), Debbie (Henry), Cindy (Gene), Wesley, Kerry (Ann) and Rhonda (Andrew); as well as 26 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; her sisters Gladys and Margaret; brothers Frank, Bob, Mike and Walter; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was born on January 17, 1932 in Merritt, B.C. For the past 42 years she made Kamloops her home. She was an avid volunteer at the Interior Indian Friendship Centre and Desert Gardens Community Centre. Mary enjoyed her flowers and gardening, outings with her friends and playing bingo. Her most cherished times were spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially at our yearly family reunion in Chase. She was a proud, strong, independent woman who was so very much loved, respected and admired by all who knew her.
