It is with deep sadness and shock that we announce the sudden passing of our sister, Lisa on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at her home.
Born in Moncton, Lisa was the daughter of the late Hughie T. and Anne (MacEachern) Batherson.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Lisa was a graduate of Thompson High School, Mount St. Vincent Academy and the Cape Breton Business College. She also worked as a hairdresser for a short time. For the past nine years she was a dedicated worker at Stream in Glace Bay.
Lisa was an avid reader, she loved watching “Jeopardy” and always knew the answers. She was also very fond of cats and loved her own dearly.
Lisa will be sorely missed by her brothers, Malcolm (Kay) Batherson, North Sydney, Roy (Barbara) Batherson, Glace Bay, Kevin (Ellen) Batherson, Moncton, and Danny (Helen) Batherson, Calgary; her four nieces and four nephews and 13 grandnieces and nephews; aunts, Nettie Orman, Moncton, and Flora Mae Batherson, Troy, Inverness County; and several cousins.
Lisa was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, John Batherson and Stephen Batherson.
Visitation for Lisa will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday in the W.J. Dooley funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
