HAZEL EARLE

HAZEL EARLE

It is with great sadness that the family of Hazel Earle announces her passing in Red Deer, on January 8, 2012 at 93 years of age. Formerly a resident of Sechelt for about 25 years, Hazel's wonderful, spirited personality will be missed by her three children, Marion (Eric) of Red Deer, Kathy (Robert) of Edmonton and Steven (Justine) of Gabriola Island and her nine grandchildren, Anne (Adam), Paul, Rachel, Genevieve, Isaac, Rosemary, Heather, Tim and Kate. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh in 1989, her
parents Stephen and Beatrice, and siblings, Maude and Ion.
Hazel was born in 1918, in Neath, Wales, obtained her schooling in Bristol, and became a nurse specializing in paediatrics. She practiced in London during the war before immigrating to Canada in 1947. She continued her nursing career in the Okanagan until she met and married Hugh Earle. Hazel and Hugh operated a small pear orchard in Kelowna for many years before
moving to Vancouver, and then Sechelt for their retirement.
Plans for a celebration of Hazel's life, will be held later in the spring in Sechelt. Messages to the family may be sent to Marion Kokko (kokko-family@shaw.ca)
