Redmond, Eileen Joyce, 80, of Bible Hill, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in East Wentworth, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Doris (MacPhee) Benjamin. Eileen loved to play bingo and cards with her family and friends and loved to travel.
She is survived by sons, Kenneth Cail (Diana), Oshawa, ON, Donald Cail (Linda), Mt Tom, David Cail (Darlene), Hilden, Herbert Cail (Susan), Manitoba; daughters, Betty Jean McMaster (Donald), Laura McGrath (Carl), both of Bible Hill, Evelyn Weatherby, Oshawa, ON , Marion Murdock, Williams Lake, BC, Joyce McKeen (David), Edmonton, AB, Helen Moore (Garry Redmond), Hilden, Linda Aitkens (Greg), Truro; brother Glen Benjamin (Jean), Oxford. Step-children Esther (Allan) Bain, Irean Tattrie (Clay Drummond), Heather (Joe) Marshall, Janet (Harold) Jamieson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several step-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband Austin Cail; second husband Harold Redmond; sons, Ronald, Steven; brothers, Herbert, Lyle; grandson Hector McNutt; great-granddaughter Cassidy McKeen; sister Evelyn; sister-in-law Mae (Benjamin) Joyce; son-in-laws James Murdock, John Moore, LeRoy Weatherby;
Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7 until 9 pm and funeral service Wednesday at 3 pm, all in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, with Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Bell Gift Cemetery, New Annan. Donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of choice.
